Remembering Pat Cope
Pat Cope was a tremendous
supporter of all things Kings. She
taught in our district at both JF
Burns and Kings Junior High
working with special education
students. She was a huge advocate
for her students and continually
went the extra mile for them.
Pat and her husband Mike served
many roles as band parents—
including presidents of the
boosters—while all three of their children went through the
band program here at Kings. Two of her kids have returned to
Kings to help instruct the marching band.
Pat was the founder of our BandCakes event. She researched
and planned the fundraiser for almost two years before
putting the plan in action.
Pat was always supportive of the band and was a true band
fan. Even on the coldest or hottest of days, you could find Pat
clapping for the kids. She continued to be a big band
supporter even after her youngest had graduated out of the
program.
I could always count on a kind word of support from Pat even
while she was battling cancer. She was an inspiration to all of
us as a parent, colleague, neighbor, friend and band fan.
